Hello Montana
Professionals,
I’d like to take a
minute to tell you about
an exciting course in
Advanced Studies in
Listening and Spoken
Language. We are
currently forming a
cohort in your state and
are looking for three
more professionals to
participate. Please take
a minute and read over
the following
information, as well as
the
attached brochure.
Thank you in advance for
your time and I look
forward to hearing from
you shortly!
The Omaha Hearing School
for Children, Inc. and
the University of
Nebraska-Omaha have
teamed-up to provide
educational
professionals with a
graduate level course in
auditory-oral education.
This course is available
to anyone who serves
children who are deaf or
hard of hearing ages
birth – 3rd grades.
Regular and special
educators, Teachers of
the deaf, SLPs and
Audiologists may enroll
in the course to receive
training to help these
children achieve their
fullest potential in
spoken language and in
school.
This
course is available for
professionals in your
state, even though it is
offered through the
University of
Nebraska-Omaha. A
private grant has made
it possible for
professionals to receive
training on-line.
Additionally,
instructors will travel
to your area for
additional training,
followed by an expense
paid immersion trip to
an auditory-oral program
to see the coursework in
action. We are excited
to begin our fourth
year! In our 2007-2008
pilot year, we had eight
graduate students from
Nebraska and Iowa. Last
year, 2008-2009,
twenty-three graduate
students participated
from Nebraska, Iowa and
Colorado. This year,
2009-2010, there are
currently twenty-five
cohort members from
Kansas, South Dakota,
and Minnesota.
Please read through the
attached brochure. I
hope there are
professionals in your
area who would be
interested in receiving
this training, and three
graduate credit hours.
If you have contact
information for
professional
organizations, list
serves, or names of
professionals who would
be interested, I would
sincerely appreciate you
helping me spread the
word about our program.
Please feel free
to contact me with any
questions you may have
regarding the Advanced
Studies in Listening and
Spoken Language Program.
Thank you for your
attention to this
information and I look
forward to hearing from
you soon.
Sincerely,
